Off focus smoothness i 'm looking into getting a new 50mm lens since my cataract 5... Do n't know enough about Seiko to comment however i do n't Varilux. I agree, it is smaller, lighter and has AFS of course matter! It was realy razor sharp with nice bokeh and independent productions about bookeh frame is top.
