Right Arrow - Lock to Red Axis --- MSTS X - East/West Position the Move/Copy Tool (crossed arrows button) on the point or component you want to move. The increment will be a multiple of 1.5" or things will snap to existing geometry. As said before by others, set length snapping to 1.5" and when drawing or moving geometry avoid doing so 'off axis' by constraining to the axis of your choice by using the arrow keys or by holding down [Shift] when the 'on axis' color pops up. Such tasks are certainly not uncommon. There are no "snapping" options in SketchUp as there are in some other 3D applications. The point or the selected object/component will now move only along a single axis. If you switch any of the axes, your object will turn upside down. Left click and without moving the mouse, Press and release the selected keyboard arrow key.
